Bricklayer

Our bricklaying apprenticeship program is operated under the direction of a joint committee.  Union representatives, representatives from local contractors and consultants from the Division of Apprenticeship Standards and the Hayward Unified School District make up our committee. Apprentices are required to join the union in order to participate in our program. Bricklaying is one of the oldest and most highly respected of the construction trades.  A bricklayer is a skilled craftsperson, who using their talents and training is able to properly position masonry units, to create efficient, beautiful buildings and other structures. The bricklayers role in the construction of buildings is normally, but not limited to building walls.  The work must be coordinated with other trades to insure the buildings are completed on schedule. It is very rewarding to look back at the projects we have been a part of throughout our careers.
